Who Are We?

Malatchie Trails, LLC is a new company member to our Malatchie Farm.  The co-founders of Malatchie Trails are Lucy Jarrett and her son Josh Jarrett.  Malatchie Trails is a place of peace, for you and for your horse.  We started this company so people could spend quality time with their horses.  We want horses and their owners to spend quality time together and have room to ride in a private, uncrowded environment.

Our farm has been in the family for many generations.  It was named in the 1920s by our ancestor, Lucy Frederick Forbes after the Creek Indian Malatchie, who was the son of the Emperor Brim. Emperor Brim welcomed James Oglethorpe to present day Georgia in the 1730s. Over the generations, we have had row crops, pecans, peaches and the first registered herd of Santa Gertrudis cattle in Georgia. In fact, our logo is a variation on our former cattle brand.  Today, we are a timber farm with miles of Georgia pines, peaches and fields.
Why Us?
Malatchie Trails provides a place truly like no other.  You won't find such serenity with your beloved horse as much as you will right here at Malatchie Trails.  It is some of the most beautiful land in Georgia.  Don't believe us?  Send us a message, then stop by and visit us to see for yourself how magical this land is.  We'd love to show you around!
